  1. Manual Therapy:
    • With manual techniques applied by the physical therapist, tension in the muscles is relieved, mobility of the joints is increased and pain is relieved.
    • Methods such as mobilization and manipulation contribute to the restoration of anatomical balance.
  2. Therapeutic Exercises:
    • Specialized strengthening and stretching exercises are applied to balance the muscles around the knee and increase stability.
    • It is aimed to restore functional capacity and increase muscle strength.
  1. Electrotherapy:
    • Pain control and muscle activation are provided by using devices such as electromodulation and transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation (TENS).
    • Muscle activity measurement can be performed with electromyography (EMG) biofeedback.
  2. Ultrasound Therapy:
    • By using high frequency sound waves, heat is created in the tissues, increasing blood circulation and supporting the healing process.
    • It is especially effective in the treatment of soft tissues.
  3. Dry Needle Therapy:
    • It is used to treat myofascial pain, muscle tension or trigger points by applying thin needles to the muscles.
    • It is an effective method to reduce tension in muscle tissue and relieve pain.
  4. Functional Rehabilitation:
    • Correct posture and movement mechanics in daily activities are taught through patient-specific movement analysis and training.
    • The patient participates in special programs that include daily living activities to regain functional independence.

What are the Physical Therapy Exercises for the Knee?

In our clinic, we aim to support healthy mobility by offering specially designed physical therapy exercises to our patients struggling with knee problems. Some important movements that form the basis of physical therapy exercises for the knee are as follows:

  1. Quadriceps Strengthening:
    • Straight Leg Raises: Lying on your back, keeping one leg straight and slowly lifting it.
    • Terminal Knee Extension: Exercising terminal extension of the knee by extending the leg using an elastic band.
  2. Hamstring Stretch:
    • Seated Hamstring Stretch: Sitting on the floor, extending one leg, bending the other and stretching the back of the knee.
    • Standing Hamstring Stretch: Stretching the hamstring muscles by standing, extending the leg and bending the body.
  3. Calf Strengthening and Stretching:
    • Calf Raises: The movement of standing on the tips of the toes.
    • Calf Stretch: Stretching the calf muscles by pressing the heel towards the ground while the foot is one step back.
  4. Knee Flexion and Extension Movements:
    • Heel Slides: Lying on your back, bending and straightening the knee.
    • Seated Knee Extension: Straightening the leg while sitting in a chair.
  5. Strengthening Inner Quadriceps:
    • Inner Range Quadriceps Exercise: Strengthening the quadriceps muscles in partial range of motion, under the guidance of a physiotherapist.
  6. Balanced Movement:
    • Single Leg Balance: Maintaining balance by standing on one leg.
    • Lunges: Working the leg muscles by taking a step forward and stepping back.
